Located in the heart of Jefferson’s Virginia, the Inn at Meander Plantation offers a rare opportunity to escape to the past and enjoy the pleasures of a simpler life in true colonial style. Dating to 1766 the inn sits majestically on 80 acres of rolling pastures and woods. Each of its 10 sun drenched rooms and cottages offer elegance and warmth, featuring four poster beds, antiques and period furnishings. |
Not only is the inn steeped in history and charm but it also offers an exceptional and fun-filled cooking school throughout the year. Innkeeper Suzie Blanchard opened the school in 2001 and delights in sharing her 23 years of experience as a food writer and chef. Hands-on classes are led by both Suzie and David Scales, chef of the Inn and extremely creative and talented cook.
There is plenty to do outside of the kitchen as well. The Inn at Meander Plantation’s prime location in the heart of Virginia’s Blue Ridge foothills provides guests with marvelous opportunities to enjoy the natural beauty of central Virginia, and the area’s many hidden treasures. The Blue Ridge Mountain foothills are rich in prehistoric, Native American and Colonial history, as well as Revolutionary and Civil War history. Now the region makes history with award-winning wines from the heart of Virginia’s growing wine industry.
The Inn at Meander Plantation is within 10 miles to historic downtown Culpeper with its many unique restaurants and shops. Also, the historic township of Orange is only 7 miles away.
