This culinary tour offers the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the life of real Paris. Venture inside the city as only locals know it, going to local markets, cooking in a private home, and dining with a French family or couple.

You will stay in a private apartment in the heart of one of Paris' chic neighborhoods. Each bed and breakfast is carefully selected to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay in the capital. You will be welcomed warmly in a family atmosphere and you will enjoy a quality room, in prime location and close to public transport. Your apartment features a private bathroom and kitchen along with your own entrance.

Each day in Paris will offer its own culinary discoveries...In the dreamlike background of Paris' most beautiful neighborhoods you will go on a gourmet walking tour, tasting and learning about the city's culinary past and present. Then it's on to the market with a professional chef to select ingredients for your hands-on cooking class in a private home. Finally sit down to a home cooked meal with a French family and share warmth and laughter over a four course meal.

Day Two

Meet your chef and instructor for a visit to the famous rue Levis market to shop for ingredients for today's cooking class. You will learn tips on how to chose the best products and experience the atmosphere of a family outdoor market. On Monday, the only day without a market you will visit the Lafayette gourmet store instead.

Then head to the chef's home, just steps from the Opera, to begin your cooking class. You will prepare an entree, main dish and dessert. A glass of wine and coffee or tea are provided. Some of the menus you may prepare: Tarama souffle, duck magret with bigarade dressing, orange cake with olive oil and saffron. Or, cereal pancake and mushroom fricasse with nut oil, cod mouclade with lemon liqueur, ice cream with soft white cheese. After the lesson, everyone tastes the dishes together and receives copies of the recipes.

Evening on your own.

Day Three

Today, you will walk as a real Parisian through the medieval part of the Latin Quarter, a familial neighborhood famous for its food. Our tour brings us through a market, then to a cheesemaker, several bakers and dessert makers, and finally a regional specialty shop. The visit includes a tasting of foie gras, wine cheese and bread.

Afternoon on your own.

Join a Parisian family for fine dining in a private home. Your hosts are English speaking Parisians who are eager to share their insights and cultural background with international guests. You will enjoy a four course traditional French menu.
